Flood-Like Situation Engulf Mainaguri Block, 100 Acres Land Eroded by River

Webdesk, TNI Mainaguri, 9th July, 2017: Like Dhupguri, Mainaguri Block is also affected by the overnight showers of yesterday. The Gram Panchayats affected were Amguri, Ramshai, and others. The river water causing such a situation is from Jaldhaka River.
Apart from this, there is another problem crippling is the river erosion. Villagers claimed an estimated 100 acres of land went into the river. According to local panchayat member, the villages affected were Khemonpara, Jharuapara, East Borogila, Panbari, Burmanpara etc. At least 3000 families are in distress. The people are demanding the block administration should come immediately in the region to take stock of the situation.
